Artist statement:

My practice stems from perpetual self-exploration on the notion of Body, informed by my cultural background, chosen identities and embodied experiences. My primary obsession is the creation of asexual erotica- erotica that evokes my sensual reality as someone on the furthest end of the asexual spectrum. Through a facsimile of the visual languages of allosexual erotic artwork and expression, I wish to depict the asexual eros, the asexual sensuality and sensibility. Knowing that, historically, most of our artistic language has developed with the assumption that sexual desire is inherent, I want to see if it’s even possible to use a field as historically charged as Painting for this purpose.
